Suitable for Organic Farming. Our "Optimal" growing medium is made from wood shavings (free of adhesives and treatments) and organic cereal residues. We are inspected and certified by Certisys (BE-BIO-01).
Productivity. We have studied the composition of the various ingredients to provide the mycelium with an optimal substrate in terms of carbon-to-nitrogen ratio, sugars, and minerals. Composed of a base of beech sawdust, this substrate is suitable for wood-decaying fungi that break down wood: oyster mushrooms, king trumpet mushrooms, nameko mushrooms, lion’s mane mushrooms, reishi mushrooms, as well as shiitake mushrooms, which are generally more demanding in terms of substrate.
Storage: The bags can be stored for3 to 4 weeksin a cool, clean room. However, for best results, we recommend using them shortly after receipt.
Contents: Approximately 5 kg of growing medium in a microfilter bag (Unicorn XLS-A)
To inoculate them, we recommend using ourgrain-based mycelium.
They are sterilized and then sealed in the laboratory to ensure sterility during transport. They can be stored for several weeks before use; however, for safety reasons, we recommend using them sooner rather than later.

ing medium” (Exemption No. EM470.J)
Usage
- Clean the outside of the bag, especially where you will be opening it at the top, using 70% alcohol or 10% bleach.
- Clean a sharp blade, and if possible, heat it over a flame first. Use it to cut open the bag just below the seal.
- Inoculate (seed) with 5 to 10%grain-based mycelium. That is, 250 to 500 grams of grain-based mycelium per bag. If your sterilization conditions are good, you can try reducing the percentage of mycelium.
- Seal the bag using a heat sealer, clips, or adhesive tape. Leave as much air as possible inside the bag and make sure the filter remains unobstructed.
- Mix the substrate to distribute the grains evenly throughout.
- Place the incubation bag at a temperature of 20–24°C.
Transportation
Due to the volume and weight of the substrates, we can only include 4 bales per package; therefore, it is best to order in multiples of 4. In some cases, our website may not correctly calculate the appropriate number of packages if you order a large number of bags or multiple products at the same time. In such cases, we reserve the right to reduce the quantity of products or increase the shipping costs as necessary.
We can also ship up to 80 bales per pallet. Shipping costs vary depending on the destination. You or we can arrange for shipping.
Note:
- During transport, condensation may form on plastic surfaces due to temperature fluctuations. This is not a problem in itself.
- All warranty claims must be submitted within 10 days of receipt, with the bags still sealed. Claims must be submitted via email, accompanied by detailed photos of the issue.
Organic Certification
All our products are certified under the BE-BIO-01 standard by Certisys Belgium.
