Composition: wood sawdust, cereals, reishi mycelium.

Net weight of the grow block: +-5.4 kg.

Dimensions: 25*20*20 cm (L*W*H)

The reishi mushroom (Ganoderma Lucidum) has been used by various cultures for hundreds, if not thousands, of years for its diverse medicinal properties.

Its red and orange caps are quite hard and fibrous, so they are usually consumed as a tea or ground into powder.

In traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine, the typical dosage ranges from 1.5 g to 9 g per day of dried mushroom or the equivalent in tablets, capsules, or liquid or solid extract.

Furthermore, its dense, thick mycelium is highly compressive resistant. It also exhibits interesting insulating properties, which is why it is also used in myco-material research.

MYCOMATERIALS

These grow blocks can also be used to create your own mycelium shapes. Break the sawdust block while keeping the plastic sealed, kneading until the sawdust returns to its powdery texture. Then, you can use this substrate by placing it into your thoroughly cleaned molds. After a few days at room temperature, the mycelium will reform into a solid block. You can then demold and dehydrate it in an oven to halt the mycelium growth.

Our quality commitment:

We produce our mycelium under laboratory conditions, ensuring the purity of the strains and optimal quality.

Our mycelium is produced 100% organically, and all our products are certified "BE-BIO-01, Agriculture Belgium" by CERTISYS.

Usage

To cultivate reishi, we recommend the following technique. Keep the plastic bag closed while trying to maximize the air inside the bag. If necessary, you can slightly open the bag to let air in and then reseal it with tape. The goal is to create a mini greenhouse with a very high CO2 level inside. This will encourage the development of "antlers." This stage can take between 30 and 60 days.

Once the antlers reach about 15cm, or two-thirds of the air space in the bag, you can open the top of the bag to allow air entry, which will encourage cap development. Let it grow for about 30 more days, and your reishi will be ready to harvest.

Where to cultivate it?

Indoors (kitchen, garage, cellar). Reishi enjoys warmth (20-30°C). Depending on the humidity of the location, it may be necessary to mist regularly with a spray. However, avoid letting the grow block sit in constant standing water. Reishi appreciates indirect sunlight (remember, it grows in "underwood"). Avoid anything that may dry out the grow block: drafts, radiators, direct sunlight.

How many harvests?

We usually get 1 harvest from this type of grow block. After harvesting, you can try for a second crop in the garden: bury it leaving 2-3 cm of soil on top, and it might produce a small crop at the beginning of the next summer.

Preservation

Reishis can be stored for about 3-4 weeks in a paper bag in the fridge. For longer storage, you can also dry them.
