Organic Straw Pellets
- 🍄 ORGANIC STRAW PELLETS: Ideal for growing mushrooms such as oyster mushrooms.
- 🌱 NATURAL INGREDIENTS: Made from straw sourced from organic farming, ensuring a chemical-free growing medium.
- 💪 PRE-PASTEURIZED: The pellet manufacturing process eliminates most of the bacteria and mold found in straw, ensuring a clean, ready-to-use substrate.
- 📦 EASY TO USE: Ready to hydrate and inoculate with your favorite mycelium, these pellets offer a convenient solution for both hobbyists and professional growers.
- 🌍 ORGANIC CERTIFICATION: Certified "BE-BIO-01" by Certisys, guaranteeing an environmentally friendly product that complies with organic farming standards.
Suitable for use in organic farming. The straw pellets are made from certified organic straw (free of adhesives and treatments). We are inspected and certified by Certisys (BE-BIO-01).
Pelletizing the ingredients allows for standardization of the substrate and removes most contaminants during the compaction process. Storage requires 4 times less space, saving you room. Long-term preservation is guaranteed, so you can use it whenever you need it.
Our organic straw pellets are particularly well-suited for all our oyster mushrooms. They can also be used as an ingredient in substrates for king oyster mushrooms, black pearl mushrooms, or other varieties, supplemented with grains and/or beech pellets, for example.
Usage
Add 2 liters of water per kilogram of straw pellets to achieve a moisture content of approximately 66%. Note: It is better to use slightly less water than too much, as excess water is more difficult to remove later.
Example:
Pick up one of our microfiber bags.
Add 1 kg of organic straw pellets and 2 liters of boiling water (99°C) to pasteurize the mixture quickly.
Let it rise and cool.
Add the mycelium ( between 150 and 300 grams per 3-kg bag of substrate).
Seal the bags, leaving some air inside and ensuring the filter is completely clear.
Gently mix to distribute the mycelium throughout the substrate.
For varieties with fast-growing, aggressive mycelium, such as oyster mushrooms, you can pour cold water directly onto the pellets, add a teaspoon of slaked lime, and inoculate with approximately 10% mycelium.
Let it incubate for 2 to 3 weeks in the dark at 20°C.
Induce fruiting making a slit in the side of the bag and keeping it moist.
You can also use our column bags. In this case, the mycelium must be mixed with the hydrated pellets beforehand, and small holes must be punched in the bags to allow for ventilation.
Note
The bagging process may result in slight variations in bag weight. We recommend a moisture content of ±60% for the substrate (i.e., 600 grams of water per 400 grams of dry matter to achieve 1 kilogram of moist substrate).
