Instructions for Use
During colonization
Cover the openings of the monotub with the self-adhesive filters provided. These filters promote gas exchange while limiting the entry of unwanted spores, dust, and bacteria from the environment.
Keep the container closed during colonization and avoid opening it unnecessarily. Wait until the substrate is properly colonized before switching to the conditions for fruiting.
During the fruiting
- Remove the two filters located at one end of the lid.
- Connect the FAE Mini fan and the Myco-Mister Mini hose to the designated openings.
- On the opposite side, make a small incision in a 5-cm filter.
- Gently insert the humidity controller probe through this incision.
- Adjust the humidity and ventilation according to the needs of the crop being grown.
Important: The system directly controls humidity and air exchange. The CO₂ level is regulated indirectly by the supply of fresh air, but it is not automatically measured by a CO₂ sensor.
Mycelium-to-substrate ratio
North Spore generally recommends mixing 1 part colonized grain mycelium with 2 to 3 parts substrate. A higher inoculation rate can accelerate colonization and help reduce the risk of contamination.
However, the optimal ratio depends on the species, the substrate formulation, the packaging used, and your growing conditions.
