You are on this page.

The PureFlow 1200 is a large-format laminar flow hood designed for mushroom growers, small-scale laboratories, and demanding cultivation facilities.
It provides a uniform flow of filtered air across a large work surface, significantly reducing contamination during sensitive procedures (agar preparation, transfers, liquid cultures, inoculations, and substrate seeding).

Perfect if you’re working on a production line, in large open spaces, or want to improve the overall cleanliness of an area.

Objective: To reduce contamination during sensitive procedures (agar plates, transfers, liquid cultures, inoculations, etc.) by working in a filtered, uniform airflow.

Understanding laminar flow

What is a laminar flow hood?

A laminar flow hood draws in air, passes it through a pre-filter and then a HEPA H14 filter, and returns clean air in a steady stream. This allows you to work “inside” a curtain of filtered air that prevents dust and spores from entering your open containers.

The H14 HEPA filter captures ≥ 99.995% of particles ≥ 0.3 µm, including fine dust, spores, and biological microparticles.

Mycosphere Tip: Even with a laminar flow system, we recommend working in a clean room that is protected from drafts (open doors/windows, fans, frequent foot traffic).

Use of a room under positive pressure

The PureFlow 1200 can also be used as a filtered air supply unit to create a slight positive pressure in a small room (home laboratory, clean room).

Requirements for good results:

• relatively airtight room
• door slightly open
• flow rate properly adjusted
• appropriate volume

Note: This is not a certified cleanroom, but it is an effective solution for significantly improving the cleanliness of a workspace.

Key strengths

  • Quiet operation and low energy consumption: reduced noise pollution and lower operating costs (depending on settings).
  • Dual filtration: pre-filter + HEPA filter for effective protection of the main filter.
  • Adjustable airflow: adjust the airflow to suit your needs and setup.
  • Compact profile: large working area while maintaining a manageable height (320 mm).

Replacement filters: a tool built to last

We offer HEPA filters and replacement pre-filters . With regular maintenance, the PureFlow 1200 is designed to last for years.

Tip: Check the prefilter regularly. Once it becomes clogged, airflow and comfort may decrease.

Note: Results may vary depending on your environment, your technique, filter maintenance, and the layout of your workspace.

Good quality

We could clearly see the difference right from the first few sessions: far fewer contaminations in agar and liquid cultures. The 1175 model is super comfortable; you can set up all your equipment and get right to work without feeling cramped. Adjustable speed, reasonable noise level, and easy maintenance thanks to the pre-filter. A very good investment.
