Production blocks ready for cultivation for mushroom farms and professional growers

Our 5-kg professional mushroom logs are designed for growers who have a fruiting area and wish to produce fresh mushrooms on a regular basis.

The blocks are made from a lignocellulosic substrate, inoculated with our mycelium, and incubated at our facility until they are fully matured. They are shipped ready to be placed in fruiting conditions.

This professional format prioritizes yield, consistent production, and lower costs per kilogram of substrate.

This product is not a home-use kit: it comes without a display box, spray bottle, or accessories.

Available packaging options

  • Set of 12 5-kg bales, totaling approximately 60 kg of growing medium
  • Set of 24 5-kg bales, totaling approximately 120 kg of growing medium

Orders placed directly on this page consist of a single variety.

Whether you need a mixed order, a full pallet, recurring production, or a schedule of staggered deliveries, please contact us so we can organize production to meet your needs.

Varieties and fruiting Conditions

The ranges below are for reference only. Performance depends, among other factors, on the strain, the actual substrate temperature, humidity, ventilation, CO₂ concentration, light, and the speed of fruiting.

Variety Recommended temperature Relative humidity Typical harvests Estimated harvest per bale
Blue oyster mushroom 13–20 °C 85–95% 2 to 3 sets 1.5 to 2 kg
Summer oyster mushroom 18–24 °C 85–95% 2 to 3 sets 1.5 to 2 kg
Pink oyster mushroom 20–28 °C 85–95% 2 sets 0.8 to 1.3 kg
Yellow oyster mushroom 18–26 °C 88–95% 2 sets 0.8 to 1.3 kg
Black Pearl 10–17 °C 85–95% 2 sets 1 to 1.5 kg
Lion's Mane 15–20 °C 85–92% 2 sets 0.7 to 1.1 kg
Piopino 16–22 °C 80–90% 2 sets 0.7 to 1.1 kg
King Oyster Mushrooms 10–17 °C 80–90% at startup, then 70–85% 1 to 2 flights 0.6 to 1 kg
Shiitake 16–20 °C 85–90% 2 to 3 sets 1 to 1.5 kg
Reishi 21–27 °C 85–95% 1 main cycle About 300 to 350 g (dry weight)

The quantities listed are cumulative estimates based on all harvests. They do not constitute a guarantee of yield.

Ventilation plays a particularly important role for oyster mushrooms, Lion’s Mane, and eryngii. Excessive CO₂ levels can result in elongated stems, small caps, or abnormal fruiting body formation.

For reishi, the rate of air exchange also influences the shape that develops: an atmosphere with higher CO₂ levels generally promotes the growth of antler-like structures, while a higher rate of air exchange promotes the formation of caps.

The recommended ranges are consistent with the recommendations of specialized growers for oyster mushrooms, Black Pearl, Lion’s Mane, pioppino, eryngii, shiitake, and reishi. However, they should be adjusted to suit your specific strains and facilities.

Production Lead Times

Our bundles are living products made to order.

The usual lead time before shipment is:

  • 3 to 4 weeks for most varieties
  • a potentially longer processing time for shiitake mushrooms and varieties that require extended incubation or ripening

The final lead time depends on the variety, the order quantities, and our production schedule. For large or recurring orders, we recommend planning your needs several weeks in advance.

An estimated shipping time can be provided after the order is confirmed.

Parcel Delivery

Bales can be shipped in cartons of 4 bales:

  • Set of 12: 3 boxes
  • Set of 24: 6 boxes

Shipping by parcel is suitable for small quantities, but exposes the packages to greater risk of impact, jolts, and compression during sorting operations.

Despite our careful packaging, the substrate may become slightly warped during shipping.

Pallet delivery recommended

For business orders, we recommend delivery on a pallet whenever possible.

The palette offers several advantages:

  • fewer individual steps;
  • reduced risk of falling or being crushed;
  • bales held in a more stable position;
  • better protection for large volumes;
  • delivery that is better suited to a professional setting.

Pallet delivery is priced on a quote basis, depending on the quantity, destination, and access constraints at the delivery location.

The customer may also arrange for pickup on their own or use their own carrier.

Transportation of Live Animals

Bales are biologically active products. Their condition may change depending on:

  • the duration of transport;
  • the temperatures encountered;
  • shocks and vibrations;
  • the time remaining before they are placed in fruiting appropriate storage.

Business customers must verify that the chosen mode of transportation is suitable for the perishable nature of the products.

When shipping is arranged by the customer or by a carrier designated by the customer, the customer assumes the risks associated with shipping as of the time of pickup, in accordance with the agreed-upon terms of sale.

When La Mycosphère arranges the shipment, any visible damage must be reported to the carrier at the time of delivery and documented promptly.

Inspection upon Receipt

Upon delivery:

  1. Check the exterior condition of the boxes or the pallet.
  2. Report any visible damage to the delivery person and note specific reservations on the shipping document.
  3. Take photos before opening the boxes in case of any visible damage.
  4. Check the bags, seams, and filters for damage.
  5. Quickly place the bundles in their storage or fruiting conditions.

Storage instructions may vary by species. Pink and yellow oyster mushrooms, in particular, are more sensitive to cold than temperate varieties. If you plan to store them for a while, please ask us for the appropriate conditions for the specific variety.

What should you do if a bale is cracked or misshapen?

A crack in the substrate or slight warping of the block does not necessarily mean that the bundle is unusable.

If:

  • The bag is always closed and watertight;
  • the filter is intact;
  • No green, black, or orange contamination is visible;
  • There is no unusual odor;

The mycelium generally remains alive and can continue to produce fruiting bodies normally.

We therefore recommend that you:

  1. Keep the bag closed;
  2. Gently reshape the block without compressing it excessively;
  3. Let the bale settle for 24 to 72 hours;
  4. Check for mycelium growth before creating the fruiting opening.

The block does not need to remain perfectly rigid or visually intact to produce mushrooms. The quality of the mycelium and the integrity of the bag are more important than the presence of a superficial crack.

However, please isolate the package and contact us immediately if:

  • the bag is open or punctured;
  • the weld or filter is damaged;
  • the substrate is widely dispersed throughout the bag;
  • a colored stain appears;
  • There is a sour, fermented, or putrid odor.

Please send us photos of the box, the shipping label, and the affected package before starting the fruiting process.

Performance Conditions

The yields shown are estimates obtained under optimal professional conditions. They may vary significantly depending on:

  • the quality of the fruiting chamber fruiting
  • temperature and humidity control;
  • air exchange;
  • the CO₂ concentration;
  • the moment the bag is opened;
  • the quality of the harvests and the cleaning between runs;
  • storage and the conditions encountered during transport.

Mycosphère provides a living product ready to produce fruiting bodies, but cannot guarantee a specific quantity of mushrooms when growing conditions are beyond its control.
