Used organic mushroom substrates

We produce our bales using a mixture of untreated sawdust and organic cereals. Most of our used bales are those of oyster mushrooms. If you have a specific need, do not hesitate to contact us.

We generally keep the bales for 2 harvests in our grow rooms. Afterwards we take them out of our rooms to replace them with new, more productive bales.

What are the uses of our used substrates?

- These substrates may still produce a few small flocks of mushrooms (always have the mushrooms checked if you are unsure of what you are harvesting)

- Breeding of insects such as beetles.

- Soil amendment, vermicomposting supplements. They contain less nitrogen and more carbon than traditional compost.

Depending on the season, we may have bales of shiitake from which we only harvest one harvest.

Note that bales may break during shipping, and there may be some traces of harmless green mold growing during shipping.
