Use

If you cannot use it directly, you can keep the bundle for +-2 weeks in the fridge.

This variety appreciates temperatures between 15 and 29°, the ideal being between 18 and 22°.

This variety will give more beautiful colors with the right amount of light.

Make a cut in the side of the bale at the substrate level. Thoroughly remove the air from the bag, to prevent mushrooms from growing inside the bag. Lay the bag with the opening on its side. Keep moist until buds appear. Keep humidity at 80 to 90% when growing mushrooms. You can use our minispray or our other professional misters .

    When to harvest?

The bunches must be harvested before the edges of the caps rise and begin to brown slightly. At the start of growth, the caps can double in size every day. When growth begins to slow, it is usually a good time to harvest. Harvesting mushrooms younger allows for better storage, as well as a brighter color and more tender texture.

Tear off the bunches by turning them on themselves. Remove any pieces of stems remaining on the substrate, keep moist until the next harvest.

    Where to cultivate it?

Inside (kitchen, garage, cellar). Oyster mushrooms need a little light to grow. Prefer indirect sunlight, avoid anything that risks drying out the bale: draft, radiator, sun. Oyster mushrooms like humidity but don't like being soaked all the time.

    Harvesting and conservation

We generally make 3 harvests on this type of bale. The first harvest is the most abundant, and subsequent harvests decrease by half each time.

Oyster mushrooms will keep for around 7 to 10 days in a paper bag in the fridge. For longer storage you can also freeze them or preserve them in jars.

Tips: To encourage the growth and productivity of the second and third harvests you can:

    • Remoisten the bags by immersing them overnight in water before draining them and returning them to culture
    • Do a thermal shock: you place the bundle in a cool place for one night or more (fridge or outside for example). This simulates the arrival of winter and therefore encourages the fungus to reproduce.
