Pre-poured Petri Dishes
- 🧫 PRE-FILLED PETRI DISHES: Ideal for fungal cultures and cloning, with sterilized agar.
- 💎 ADVANTAGES: Ease of use and reduction of risk of contamination.
- 🔬 DIFFERENT MEDIA: “MPA” medium (Malt, Peptone, Agar-agar) for the multiplication of mycelia, and “Sabouraud + Antibiotic” medium to purify the mycelium.
- 📏 STORAGE ADVICE: Store vertically, at room temperature, in the original packaging. Use quickly.
- 🌍 VARIED USES: Ideal for culturing microorganisms, sample analysis and laboratory testing.
Opting for pre-filled agar plates has many advantages compared to manual preparation. In addition to convenience, they reduce the risk of contamination of cultures because they are cast in a laboratory under completely sterile conditions.
- Milieu "MPA" (Malt, Peptone, Agar-agar):
It is a classic culture medium which is ideal for the multiplication of most mycelia.
The "second choice" pack has some minor defects, mainly aesthetic. For example, there may be a few bubbles or a few agglomerations in the agar. The quality of the environment always remains guaranteed.
- Milieu 'Sabouraud + Antibiotic':
By adding an antibiotic (chloramphenicol), the development of bacteria is limited. The medium is therefore very selective and is generally used for more risky work, such as cloning fungi from nature or germinating spores. It is also recommended if you work in non-sterile conditions. Note that mycelia growth may be a little slower than with MPA medium.
Conservation
For optimal results, use the plates as soon as possible after receiving them. Store unused plates upright, at room temperature and out of direct sunlight, in their original packaging and, preferably, in a clean secondary container.
To store the colonized plates:
Once the petri dishes are colonized with mycelium, store them in the refrigerator.
Information about transportation:
We protect the petri dish bags with bubble wrap to avoid breakage during transport, but this remains a fragile product.
If the order contains other heavy items that could damage the boxes, we reserve the right to remove the item from the order or add extra shipping cost to send it a separate package.
During transport, condensation may appear on the lid, which is linked to temperature variations. This is not problematic in itself, and it goes away during incubation.
Note: All warranty claims must be submitted with the boxes still sealed in their plastic within 2 weeks of receipt.
