Organic Oyster Mushroom Growing Kit
• Harvest your own oyster mushrooms in 10 days!
• The kit can be stored for up to 6 weeks in the fridge until ready to use.
The kits are ready to grow. The mycelium has already colonized its substrate, and it is just waiting for one thing, that is for you to make a small opening for it and provide it with a little humidity to grow.
An original gift for the holidays! Harvest your own oyster mushrooms in 10 days!
The kits are all screen-printed by hand, each box is unique :) It’s a project done in partnership with the youth center “Chez Zelle).

(*) All our substrates are certified organic “BE-BIO-01” by Certisys (Belgium).
How it works?
Instructions for use are on the back of the box:
Harvest up to 1kg of oyster mushrooms over 3 harvests.
This variety can be grown all year round, ideal temperature between 12° and 20° C.
Tips:
To encourage the growth and productivity of the second and third harvests you can:
- Re-moisten the substrate: take the bag out of the box and immerse it overnight in water before draining it and putting it back into culture
- Do a thermal shock: you place the bundle in a cool place for one night or more (fridge or outside for example). This simulates the arrival of winter and therefore encourages the fungus to reproduce.
When to harvest?
The bunches must be harvested before the edges of the caps rise and begin to turn slightly brown. At the beginning of growth, the caps can double in size every day. When growth begins to slow, and the caps change color to a light gray it is usually a good time to harvest. Harvesting mushrooms younger allows for better preservation, as well as a more tender texture.
Tear off the bunches by turning them on themselves. Remove any pieces of stems remaining on the substrate, keep moist until the next harvest.
How much harvest?
We generally make 3 harvests on this type of bale. The first harvest is the most abundant, and subsequent harvests decrease by half each time.
Where to grow it?
Inside (kitchen, garage, cellar). Oyster mushrooms need a little light to grow. Prefer indirect sunlight, avoid anything that risks drying out the bale: draft, radiator, sun. Oyster mushrooms like humidity but don't like being soaked all the time.
Conservation
The fridge kit can be kept in the fridge for 6 to 8 weeks if you don't want to use it right away or if it's a gift.
Fresh oyster mushrooms will keep for 5 to 7 days in a paper bag in the fridge. For longer storage you can also freeze them, dry them or preserve them in jars.
