🍄 How does it work?
A clear instruction manual is on the back of the box:
-
Open the box and cut a small window.
-
Spray a little water every day.
-
Harvest your first mushrooms after 10 days!
Each kit allows you to harvest up to 2 kg of oyster mushrooms, spread over three harvest waves.
The first growth is the most abundant, the following ones about half the size.
🌡️ Ideal conditions
This variety can be grown all year round between 10 °C and 20 °C, indoors: kitchen, garage, or cellar.
Oyster mushrooms need indirect natural light and a humid atmosphere, without drafts or direct heat.
💧 Grower's tips
To stimulate subsequent harvests:
-
Rehydrate the substrate: take out the bag, soak it overnight in water, drain, and put it back.
-
Give a cold shock: place the kit in a cool place overnight (fridge or outside) to restart fruiting.
✂️ Harvest
Harvest the clusters before the edges of the caps curl up.
When growth slows and the caps turn light gray, it's the right time.
Gently twist off the clusters, then remove the remaining stems before the next growth.
Young mushrooms keep better and are more tender when cooked.
🧊 Storage
-
Before use: keep the kit closed in a cool place (≤10 °C) for up to 6 to 8 weeks.
-
After harvest: fresh oyster mushrooms keep for 5 to 7 days in the fridge in a paper bag, or longer if dried, frozen, or jarred.
(*) All our substrates are certified organic "BE-BIO-01" by Certisys (Belgium).
