Lentinula Edodes var.3790

For more information, we recommend reading our guide: "Log Cultivation"

How to inoculate logs with mycelium on wooden dowels?

The optimal periods to inoculate the logs are autumn, winter, and early spring, before the sap rises.

Attention: the main enemy of this culture is drought. Therefore, cover the wood with a tarp or a veil if necessary to maintain the moisture of the logs, especially during incubation.

For wood species, prioritize the following: maple, native oak, linden, chestnut, hornbeam.

The shiitake mycelium primarily feeds on the sapwood of the wood, so it is rather recommended to use sections with a diameter ranging from 8 to 15 cm. A larger diameter can also be suitable, but it also makes handling less easy.

Shiitake

Hello, there you go! The dowels are all placed, 80% oak and beech. Question: can we use beeswax to seal the dowel?
THANKS

Good morning,
Yes, absolutely, beeswax is ideal for covering mycelium plugs.

Hello, despite a fifteen-day wait on the ankles, the mycé appeared in your packaging. Now, see you in 18 months to check for a possible success. Have a good day.
