Produce your wood-decomposing mushrooms with our sterilized substrate bags, whenever you want.
Suitable for Organic Farming. Our "Optimal" substrate is composed of untreated wood chips and organic grain residues. We are inspected and certified by Certisys (BE-BIO-01).
Productivity. We have studied the composition of various ingredients to provide the mycelium with an optimal substrate in terms of the carbon/nitrogen ratio, sugars, and minerals. Composed of a base of beech wood chips, this substrate is suitable for wood-decomposing mushrooms like oyster mushrooms, eryngii, nameko, lion's mane, reishi, as well as shiitake, which are generally more demanding in terms of substrate.
Contents: approximately 5.2 kg of substrate included in a microfilter bag (Unicorn XLS-A)
To inoculate, we recommend using our grain mycelium.
The bags are sterilized and then sealed in a laboratory to ensure sterility during transport. They can be stored for several weeks before use; however, for safety, we recommend using them as soon as possible.
Usage
- Clean the outside of the bag, especially where you will open it at the top, with 70% alcohol or 10% bleach.
- Clean a sharp blade, and if possible, heat it with a flame first. Use it to open the bag just below the seal.
- Inoculate (seed) with 5 to 10% of grain mycelium. This is 250 to 500 grams of grain mycelium per bag. If your sterility conditions are good, you can try reducing the percentage of mycelium.
- Seal the bag using a heat sealer, clips, or adhesive tape. Leave as much air inside the bag as possible and ensure the filter remains clear.
- Mix the substrate to distribute the grains throughout the substrate.
- Place the bag in incubation at a temperature of 20-24°C.
Transport
Due to the volume and weight of the substrates, we can only fit 4 blocks per package: it is therefore preferable to choose a multiple of 4. It may happen that our site does not calculate the correct number of packages needed if you order a large number of bags or several products at the same time. In this case, we reserve the right to reduce the quantity of products or increase the necessary shipping costs.
We can also ship up to 80 blocks per pallet. Shipping costs vary depending on the destination. Shipping can be handled by you or us.
Note:
- Condensation may appear on the plastic during transport due to temperature variations. This is not problematic in itself.
- All warranty claims must be submitted with the bags still sealed within 10 days of receipt. Claims are made via email with detailed photos of the issue.
