The Lepista nuda, also known as Wood Blewit, is a litter mushroom that typically grows on the ground in nutrient-rich areas. It is common to find it in fairy rings under oaks and beeches, among dead leaves, and sometimes under certain conifers. This mushroom is distinguished by its typical, slightly aniseed aroma.

🌱 Growing conditions
Outdoor cultivation is recommended for Pieds-bleu, although it is possible to grow it indoors on a bed (composted manure + casing layer). Outdoors, it can be seeded in mulches around compost areas, dead leaf sizes, or various organic debris. The colonized substrate must be covered with a thin layer of soil or potting soil to maintain moisture. Commercial growing conditions are similar to those of Champignons de Paris. Outdoor planting should preferably be done in spring for fruiting in autumn, at the first frosts.
