PureFlow replacement HEPA H14 filters: keep a clean workspace, session after session.

These are the main filters that ensure fine filtration in your PureFlow unit. They are designed to protect your mycological manipulations (agar, transfers, liquid cultures, inoculations) by strongly limiting airborne particles.

Important: these HEPA filters are technical consumables. They last a long time, but their longevity directly depends on the condition of the pre-filter and the cleanliness of your environment.

Compatibility

Choose the variant corresponding to your model in the options menu.

Why replace the HEPA filter?

A HEPA H14 filter is designed to capture a very large portion of airborne particles (fine dust, mold spores, yeasts, etc.). For reference, the H14 class corresponds to an efficiency of about 99.995% on the most penetrating particle (MPPS, typically around 0.1–0.3 µm), making it a benchmark standard for creating a very clean working area in mycology. Over time, it can become clogged, which can reduce airflow, increase air resistance, and in some cases, degrade the quality of your workspace.

In most non-industrial mycological uses, a HEPA filter can last several years, especially if you replace your pre-filter as soon as it becomes loaded.

Technical characteristics

Framework Aluminum alloy
Filter media Fiberglass (depending on variant)
Seals Seals on both sides
Protection Protective grille painted on both sides
Details by variant
  • PureFlow 600 – Filter size: 570 × 570 × 70 mm • Media: F9 fiberglass
  • PureFlow 1200 – Filter size: 1170 × 570 × 70 mm • Media: fiberglass • Class: H14

Mycosphere tips (to maximize lifespan)

  • Change the prefilter as soon as it turns gray/loaded: this is the key to preserving the HEPA.
  • Work in a clean room, protected from drafts (open doors/windows, fans).
  • Never spray liquid directly towards the filter (spray “away from” it).
  • Avoid “cleaning” the HEPA: you risk damaging the media and reducing its performance.

FAQ

When should I replace my HEPA filter?
There is no universal frequency: it all depends on your environment and usage. In practice, for “workshop / enthusiast” use, a HEPA can last several years if the prefilter is well maintained.

What are the signs of an end-of-life filter?
Perceived lower flow, ventilation working harder, or less consistent results despite good practices. The simplest: do an agar test from time to time (see below).

How to check the quality of my flow (simple test)?
Every 6 months, place 1–2 open agar plates for a few minutes in the flow area during a session, then incubate them. If several plates become contaminated while your procedures and environment are controlled, this may indicate a problem (saturated prefilter, leak, or filter to replace).

Can I clean my HEPA filter?
A HEPA filter must not be washed (water, soap, cleaning products): this can damage the filter media and reduce its performance. However, you can gently remove any visible dust or fibers on the surface using a soft vacuum (no rubbing, no brushing, no compressed air), only to remove what is stuck to the protective grille. If the filter is deeply clogged or has lost flow, it must be replaced.

Why is the prefilter so important?
Because it traps “coarse” particles before they reach the HEPA. A maintained prefilter = a longer-lasting HEPA, and lower operating costs.

Note: the performance and lifespan of a filter depend on the seal of the installation, prefilter maintenance, room quality, and usage conditions.

Warranty & After-Sales Service – Replacement HEPA Filters

Our PureFlow replacement HEPA filters are covered by a 12-month warranty from the delivery date, only against manufacturing defects (frame, bonding, seals, protective grille, structural filter defect).

  • What the warranty covers: defects upon receipt (bent frame, detached seal, damaged grille, assembly defect) or manufacturing defects preventing proper installation.
  • What the warranty does not cover: normal clogging (dust), performance loss due to use, damage caused by improper handling/installation (shock, puncture, compression), moisture or liquid splashes, improper cleaning, or use in an excessively dusty environment without prefiltration.
Important: upon receipt, inspect the filter and contact us within 7 calendar days in case of any issue, with:
  • your order number,
  • detailed photos (side 1, side 2, frame, seals, any impacts),
  • and a photo of the packaging if it is damaged.

Note: a HEPA filter is a sensitive technical component. To preserve its performance, handle it with care, do not wet it, and always use an prefilter upstream to limit clogging.
