The Shiitake, known in Asia for over 7000 years, is often called the "fragrant mushroom." Rich in vitamins (notably D and B) and trace elements such as magnesium, phosphorus, and selenium, its benefits are numerous.
🎨 The Shiitake is distinguished by its flat hat, the color of which varies from light brown to dark brown. Its flesh is firm and supple, and depending on the cooking method, it develops woody, earthy flavors with hints of hazelnut. The hats generally measure between 3 and 6 cm.

The substrate was incubated for approximately 75 days to allow the mycelium to break down and assimilate the nutrients needed for optimal production. This variety of shiitake produces the majority of its mushrooms during the first harvest (7 to 10 days). Our kits are among the most productive on the market.
Notes: Harvest indications are estimates based on our experience, but are not guaranteed. Productivity depends on growing conditions and grower experience.
Our commitment to quality:
We produce our mycelia in laboratory conditions, which guarantees the purity of the varieties and optimal quality.
Our mycelia are produced 100% organically and all our products are certified “BE-BIO-01, Agriculture Belgium” by CERTISYS.
If you cannot use the bundle immediately, you can store it for 3 to 5 days in the refrigerator.
To prepare the ballot:
- Remove the plastic from the bag over a sink and rinse the bundle with clean water.
- Place the ballot on a plate.

🌿 Where to grow it?
Shiitake can be grown indoors (kitchen, garage, cellar). It needs indirect light and humidity of 80 to 90%. Avoid drafts, radiators and direct sunlight to prevent the bale from drying out. To increase humidity, spray with water or water 1-2 times a day. Cover the bundle with transparent plastic with holes to maintain humidity while allowing breathing.
Harvest between 1 and 1.5 kg of fresh mushrooms in 1 to 2 harvests. After the first harvest, let the substrate dry for 1 to 2 weeks, then soak it overnight in water before putting it back on a plate with the grow tent. The majority of fruit is produced in the first harvest, but you can get additional harvests before composting the substrate.
Shiitake will keep for about 2 weeks in a paper bag in the refrigerator. For longer storage, you can dry them, freeze them or can them.
