Composition: 100% beech sawdust

Usable in Organic Farming. Our pellets/granules are guaranteed additive-free.

Pelletization of the ingredients allows the standardization of the substrate, the elimination of a large part of contaminants during compaction. Storage takes up 4 times less volume, saving you space. Preservation is guaranteed long-term, you can use it when you need it.

It is mainly lignin, which through compaction and temperature rise allows the sawdust to be bound in pellet form, with no glues or other products added.

Use

Beech pellets can be used pure, or supplemented with other materials richer in sugars, nitrogen, or proteins for example. Adding other richer materials will make the substrate less selective, thus more sensitive to contamination by bacteria or molds.

We recommend using beech pellets with our unicorn 3T bags.

Put 1 kg of pellets per bag.

Add approximately 1.8 liters of boiling water (99°) into the bag (=60-65% moisture based on the total weight of pellets + water), let the pellets absorb the water. Close the top of the bags to limit contamination entry. Let cool for 3-4 hours or more until the temperature is below 38°.

Then inoculate with approximately 10% mycelium once the pellets have cooled. A high percentage of grains will enrich the substrate and increase productivity.

Example: 5 bags 3T with 1 kg of beech pellets and 1.8l of water. How much mycelium is needed? By putting 300 g of mycelium per bag, you will need a 1.5 kg bag of mycelium on grain.
