The Pink Oyster Mushroom (pleurotus salmoneostramineus) is native to Southeast Asia. It particularly appreciates heat (25-30°). It is therefore a variety which is cultivated mainly in summer for European countries. Avoid periods of prolonged cold which harm the mycelium.
The fruit colors ranging from light pink to dark pink are magnificent and cultivation is quite easy. It is a robust variety resistant to contamination.
Conservation of mycelium: 2-4 weeks. Unlike other varieties of pink oyster mushrooms, this variety can withstand temperatures of up to 4°. The ideal seems to be to keep it at 6-8°, and to use it rather quickly.
