THE AUTHORS

Amandine Barone and Pascal Revil, passionate about the world of mushrooms since a young age, are the authors of the site and the blog guidedeschampignons.com. They are committed to making their knowledge accessible to as many people as possible. They live in Haute-Savoie.

This guide is written in collaboration with Guillaume Eyssartier, mycologist and doctor of science from the National Museum of Natural History in Paris.

THE BOOK

An essential guide to better understand and know mushrooms. It contains quality photographs, precise explanations and advice. A clever identification tree with “funnel” criteria is also included to help you pick without making a mistake.

The main species present in France are detailed by their shape, their harvest season, their habitat and their smell, without forgetting the risk of confusion with dangerous species.

  • What is a mushroom: anatomy, life cycle...
  • Harvest and cultivation: edibility, intoxication, biotope, identification of trees, seasons (one month, one mushroom)...
  • Immediate identification: determination keys, what should be observed?
  • The 200 most common species: edible/poisonous.
  • A visual index

A clever guide that will satisfy both novices and experienced mycologists. It goes to the essentials for successful harvesting.
